This probably affected me alot more than the incident with your child who is too young to remember such things. When she is older she will start remembering and things like that will be more important. Guilt is a heavy burden; do your best to let go of it and move on. And, thanks for sharing it, by sharing it you help lift the guilt off too. You probably would have felt badly if she had worn it and gotten paint or some other gunk on it. Actually, depending on the art materials involved, it may not have really been appropriate to wear a party dress.
