If you want to be portable, a Class C is the way to go. You will get about 12 city to 20 highway mpg. If you use a truck and trailer rig, count on 5 mpg and a big hassle.Stay compact, light, and take only what you need. Learn to live without tons of crap. Use a bike trailer/buggy system for grocery store trips or just drive the RV to the grocery store and load up your fridge in the parking lot. You can even leave the kids in there while you shop. I think they are old enough.
